West End Heating Plant

Project Type: Restore heat to frozen maintenance plant; revamp non-working 1930s steam heating system to working condition (system had not worked for 25 years).
Challenges: Transport 5 million BTU heaters through Washington D.C. plus revamp four 200,000 gallon oil storage tanks (including all piping and valving) and remove 1,600 tons of contaminated soil.
Results: Within six hours of receiving the call, the maintenance plant had heat; within 12 days, steam heating system was working again.
